A principal decay mode considered for the measurement of the angle α, is B d(t) → ππ. Unfortunately, this mode suffers from a well-known problem: penguin contributions may be large [2], and their presence will spoil the clean extraction of α. In the presence of penguin amplitudes, the CP asymmetry in B d(t) → ππ does not measure sin 2α, but rather some effective (“polluted”) angle 2αeff . We may write the time-dependent rate of B d(t) → ππ as, Γ(B(t) → ππ) = eB [

The ln 2 s behaviour of total cross sections, first obtained by Heisenberg 50 years ago, receives now increased interest both on phenomenological and theoretical levels. In this paper we present a modification of the Heisenberg's model in connection with the presence of glueballs and we show that it leads to a realistic description of all existing hadron total cross-sections data.
